TYPE- MOD/IMP
DESCRIPTION-
OS/2 desparately needs a 32-bit device driver model. It is
difficult finding the tools needed to write drivers for the
16-bit model, as Microsoft C version 6 is no longer available
and writing drivers in Watcom can be frustrating.
A 32-bit model should be supported by IBM Visual Age C and
should support device drivers written in C.
Also, some driver models like NDIS 2.01 should be updated to
support a new 32-bit model. This will make it easier for
companies to port drivers between different operating systems
since right now most of the other operating systems have a
32-bit model.
